Carol Wenom
Carol began her recruiting career in 1978 with one of the nation’s largest engineering placement firms based in Houston. She became Manager of a major technical recruiting firm in Dallas for six years before returning to Houston as Vice President of Whitaker Technical in 1989. Carol continues to be a Principal in the Whitaker Companies.
In her over-forty-year career, Carol has achieved “preferred provider” or “exclusive provider” status with most of her clients. Consistently a top producer in the recruiting industry, Carol has been recognized with numerous honors and awards at local, state and national levels, and is a member and Past President of the prestigious Pinnacle Society (a consortium of 80 top recruiters in the US). Her other accolades include induction into the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) Hall of Fame, former Chairman of the NAPS Board of Directors, and recognition In Who’s Who in Energy in Houston.
Carol has been a national speaker/trainer in the staffing industry for many years. She has also been a featured speaker at several technical industry national conferences and is frequently called upon to give in-house presentations to corporate recruiting staffs.
On a personal note, Carol is married and presently resides in Asheville NC. She is quite active in volunteer work in the local community and has served on and/or chaired the Boards of several non-profit associations in the Asheville area.
Carol Wenom, CPC/CTS, Vice President of The Whitaker Companies, has over 40 years of experience in Engineering/Technical recruiting and search for the refining and chemical process industries. Her major focus has been in the midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry. More recently, Carol has gained strong connections in the world of alternative fuels as well. She came to Whitaker in 1989 after having worked for major engineering staffing companies in Houston and Dallas. Carol continues to be a Principal in the Whitaker Companies.

Her other accolades include induction into the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) Hall of Fame and is also a former Chairman of the NAPS Board of Directors. Carol has also earned multi-year recognition in “Who’s Who in Energy in Houston.”
As a noted speaker/trainer in the staffing and search industry, Carol’s credentials include speaking engagements for the National Association of Personnel Services, the National Canadian Staffing Association (ACSESS), American Staffing Association, National Personnel Association, and International Personnel Association, as well as “guest appearances” for the Society of Human Resource Managers. Carol is also frequently in demand as a speaker at national and regional engineering trade association meetings including multiple appearances speaking for the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals. As testimony to her reputation throughout the energy market sector, Carol was named a Finalist to Who’s Who in Energy for multiple years by the Houston Business Journal.
Carol received her Bachelors’ degree from Syracuse University in 1973 with a dual major in English and Communications. Prior to her career in recruiting, Carol worked in both technical and training positions for Western Geophysical Company of America based in Houston. On a personal note, Carol is married and resides in Asheville NC. She is quite active in volunteer work in the local community and has served on and/or chaired the boards of several non-profit associations in the Asheville area.
