Andrea Colabella
Andrea graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics & Statistics. She began recruiting in 2005 placing candidates with varying backgrounds across all industries. When she moved to NYC in 2006, she focused her recruitment practice within the investment management space. Initially she placed folks across the back office of private equity firms, venture capital funds, family offices and hedge funds within accounting, operations, HR, risk, and investor relations. She started her own recruitment agency in 2009 to elevate the recruitment game within investment management. Over the past decade (plus), her practice has focused on placing legal and compliance professionals within the asset management world. She is passionate about delivering best-in-class service to her clients and candidates through honest and persistent hard work. Aside from recruiting, Andrea loves spending time with her family, traveling to new places, and visiting her friends.
Andrea graduated from Johns Hopkins University with both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics & Statistics. At Hopkins, Andrea played Division III soccer all four years, leading the team as captain her junior and senior years and winning a Conference Title in 2002. Shortly after graduating, she found and fell in love with the profession of executive recruitment. She worked for two boutique recruitment agencies before beginning her own shop, Cardea Group, in 2009. Her hope at that time was the elevate the recruitment practices within the investment management world. Over the course of her career, Andrea has placed over 500 individuals and worked with a myriad of clients, primarily in the private equity, hedge fund, venture capital, family office, and investment management space. Her focus today is across legal and compliance professionals spanning roles from General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer to Compliance Associate and Legal Counsel. Aside from work, Andrea is an active volunteer and board member. She serves on the board of two non-for-profits and is an advocate for many causes. Andrea resides in the NYC area with her husband, son, and dog; she enjoys traveling to new countries, summers in Rhode Island, dinner with friends, experiencing the world through her son’s eyes, NYC’s cultural scene, and working out.
